Dear Loc Fam, 

I hope this message finds you well. I have some significant news to share with you all.

In the past few weeks, an unexpected opportunity arose. One that I know is part of God’s plan for me. 

I have made the decision to relocate to Washington, D.C. 

While this decision was made quite abruptly, this is divine alignment. A decision I couldn’t let pass, knowing that it is leading me towards a new chapter filled with growth and new beginnings.

26 years in this great city of Baton Rouge, LA

13 years as a Baton Rouge based Hairstylist

4 years as a Baton Rouge based Loctician

The moments and experiences I’ve shared with you all have truly inspired me to create new ways to serve the hair care industry. I’ve had incredible years here, and I’m so grateful for every moment.

I love Baton Rouge, but it’s time for me to take the next step forward.

I’m beginning trichology school as a key part of this next chapter in my journey. 

Trichology is the study of the hair and scalp. Trichologists diagnose and treat hair and scalp conditions, such as, hair loss, thinning, and alopecia; and scalp disorders like dandruff, psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis.

For people of color, trichology is very essential because our hair and scalp have unique characteristics and our needs are often misunderstood and overlooked by the general hair care and dermatology practices. 

I’ve always had a passion to educate my clients and others on the importance of scalp health, as it ties directly to the appearance and the experience that you have during your loc journey.

I’ve decided to focus on the education aspect of locs.

My intentions:

• Provide locticians with the proper knowledge, training, and coaching to give their clients an even better experience, ensuring they have the best possible loc journey

• Educate the general public on their hair and how to be self-sufficient and productive when it comes to taking care of your own hair by having the proper regimen, hair care routine and balanced diet/nutrition.

Although I’m so excited about the new path ahead, leaving the community and clients I love is not easy. I want to thank you wholeheartedly for your unwavering support, encouragement, and friendship over the years. It’s been an honor and privilege to know you and create some of the best moments of my life.
