That’s a valid concern and question — and it’s more common than you might think. 🌱


When starting locs, the foundation matters just as much as the finished look.

One of the most important things to remember is that your parts should be based on your natural density, not just a perfect grid.


For example, my client’s desired size was SMedium, but her nape area was parted slightly larger than the rest because her density was lower in that section.

This ensures that as her locs mature, they’ll still reach and maintain the SMedium size she wanted — without becoming thin, fragile, or prone to breakage.
