Trusting the Process: Cherria's 4 Month Loc Update 🌱

SMedium Extended 2 Strand Locs | 108 Locs

📍 Moreno Valley, California

There’s something special about witnessing a loc journey unfold, especially when it’s rooted in commitment, patience, and trust.

Meet Cherria, who is officially 4 months into her loc journey, trusting the process every step of the way. Traveling all the way from Moreno Valley, California, Cherria has shown unwavering dedication to her locs, and it has truly been an honor to be her chosen loctician.

From day one, Cherria understood that locs are more than a hairstyle, they’re a journey.

A journey that asks for consistency, patience, and faith in the process, even when progress feels slow or unfamiliar. As always, those qualities show clearly through the locs themselves.

Kimberly’s 9 Month Loc Update 🌱

111 Locs | SMedium Extended 2 Strands

At 9 months loc’d, Kimberly’s journey is a beautiful example of consistency, patience, and trusting the process.

Her SMedium Extended 2 Strand locs were started with longevity in mind, allowing for a seamless blend between added hair and natural hair as her locs mature.

At this stage, her locs are continuing to firm up, gain definition, and settle into their natural rhythm — exactly as they should.

With 111 locs, Kimberly’s set reflects balance: fullness without overcrowding, structure without restriction. This phase of the journey often brings subtle but powerful changes, less frizz, more cohesion, and the early signs of long-term maturity.

Nine months in is a reminder that locs don’t rush, they reveal themselves over time, even with extensions.

✨ “Is my nape too thin for locs?”

That’s a valid concern and question — and it’s more common than you might think. 🌱

When starting locs, the foundation matters just as much as the finished look.

One of the most important things to remember is that your parts should be based on your natural density, not just a perfect grid.

For example, my client’s desired size was SMedium, but her nape area was parted slightly larger than the rest because her density was lower in that section.

This ensures that as her locs mature, they’ll still reach and maintain the SMedium size she wanted — without becoming thin, fragile, or prone to breakage.

💡 When areas with lower density are parted too small just to match the rest of the grid, it can lead to:
